The shooting for Aishwarya’s biopic ‘Sarabjit’ is going to start at the end of November

Mumbai: The shooting of Aishwarya’s biopic ‘Sarabjit’ is going to start at the end of November .The former beauty queen Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is going to play the role of Dalbir Kaur, Sarabjit Singh’s older sister Daljeet Kaur in a biopic based on the man who was mistaken for an Indian spy, after he crossed over to India from Pakistan in 1990.

The film is being directed by ‘Mary Kom’director, Omung Kumar and is going to start at the end of November in Punjab and ends up by February. Aishwarya has just finished shooting forKaran Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

Sarabjit Singh, was an Indian farmer and was convicted of terrorism and spying in Pakistan. He was killed in Lahore in 2013 by some inmates in a prison and died after few days.

Though the movie will be the story of Sarabjit, it will be told through the eyes of his sister, Dalbir Kaur, after his conviction of terrorism and spying by the Pakistani court and him getting sentenced to death in 1991, and the subsequent campaign stated by his sister for his release. Initially the role was offered to Kangana Ranaut,but later Ash grab the role.
