NEW DELHI: India’s Shahzar Rizvi, who won the silver medal at the World Cup in Changwon, Korea in April, grabbed the numero uno in ISSF world rankings for the 10m Air Pistol.
Rizvi, with a rating points of 1,654, was ahead of Russia’s Artem Chernousov (1046) and Japan’s Tomoyuki Matsuda (803).
Rizvi previously made his maiden ISSF World Cup appearance a memorable one by winning the gold medal with a world record at the World Cup Guadalajara, Mexico in March.
Rizvi, a sergeant in the Indian Air Force (IAF) was a resident of Meerut’s Chhota Mawana village in Uttar Pradesh.
