New Delhi: In the aftermath of the Pathankot terror attacks in January, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has issued shoot- at-sight orders against anyone attempting to scale the walls of the bases under the sensitive Western Air Command.
According to reports, the IAF has urged the government to clear the proposed Rs. 8000 cores to beef up security across 54 of its air bases.
IAF has also asked the government to strictly impose the ban against construction within 100 metres of any air base and within 900 metres of its ammunition depot.
IAF also stated that the assessment of Pathnakot attack did not find major lapses in the security of the Pathankot station.
Meanwhile, the IAF has also undertaken trimming of vegetation around the Pathankot base, which might have been used by the terrorists for hiding. (ANI)
