Erode: What can be called as an inhuman act, a husband chopped off this wife’s head in a gruesome murder and later stuffed it into a bag in order to escape from getting caught said sources.
The accused was attempting to dump the dead victim’s severed head in a canal but was nabbed by the public in Tamil Nadu, News18 reports.
The accused identified as Muniappan (28) and Nivetha (19) were natives of Karnataka’s Shimoga. Their marriage took place eight months ago and the couple was residing in Mettukaddai.
The husband was very suspicious of his wife’s fidelity and quite often quarreled with her.
But on Monday night in a fit of rage after one such argument, the man stabbed her on the neck and later severed the head from the body.
The crime would have gone unnoticed if people had not spotted the victim’s legs dangling from the gunny sack the accused tied to his bike on his way to discard the beheaded body into the canal.
When some people noticed the woman’s legs sticking out of the bag, they immediately raised an alarm and chased him.
The accused then abandoned the bike and jumped into the canal but was caught by the people and handed over to the police.
A case of murder was registered against him and he was being questioned, police said.
