Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chairperson Barkha Shukla Singh on Monday said a departmental inquiry will be sought after a shocking incident, wherein a Delhi traffic policeman was caught on camera attacking a woman driver with a brick.
“This is very wrong. If police has done this, then a proper investigation is needed. I will ask for a departmental inquiry and get the policeman punished,” Shukla Singh told ANI.
Meanwhile, Delhi Police Commissioner B.S Bassi said that the policeman in question has been suspended.
“Strict action will be taken against him. We regret that such a shameful act has been committed by a traffic policeman,” Bassi said.
The incident, which took place on Monday afternoon, was caught on camera by a passerby. The victim, who was on her way home after picking up her children from school on a two wheeler, was attacked by the policeman with a brick. (ANI)
