Shiv Sena’s Sunil Prabhu has won the mayoral election by 125 votes. Total 18 independent corporators including 2 ABS corporators voted for Prabhu. MNS was absent during voting while Samajwadi Party remained neutral.
The Thackarey family – Uddhav, his wife Rashmi, sons Aditya and Tejas were present in the house to wish the new mayor. Senior Sena leaders like Manohar joshi, Diwakar Raote, Subhash Desai, Neelan Gorhe, Mohan Rawle, Anil Parab, Ravindra Waikar were also present.
BJP leader Vinod Tawde and RPI president Ramdas Athavale also wished the new mayor.
