Mumbai: Disgruntled BJP ally Shiv Sena today launched a veiled attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying the announcements made and promises given to people have remained unfulfilled. ”Modi is facing difficulties in doing what he accomplished in Gujarat, at the national level. Announcements were made, promises given, there was a sprinkling of ‘achche din’ (good days) but none of this reached people,” an editorial in Sena mouthpiece Saamana said here. “Now that the PM has issued orders to send inefficient bureaucrats home, people are happy in anticipation of the ‘achche din’,” the Sena taunted. It said that Modi is the strongest and most popular PM ever.” But even this strong Modi is facing trouble from bureaucracy.””The general perception in the government seems that bureaucracy is creating hurdles in way of ushering in ‘achche din’. It has been two years since the Modi government came to power but issues like corruption, inflation, terrorism, economic anarchy, and problems of farmers and unemployment remain and the government has blamed it on bureaucracy,” the editorial said.
“If the PM is facing bureaucratic hurdles in ushering in the achche din, who is to blame. It is a matter of research,” it added.Plot worth crores was given to Hema Malini for mere Rs 70,000 and bureaucracy did not pose any hurdles in allotting it. So it is not right to say that bureaucracy does not listen to the government, the Sena said.If the Chief Minister(CM) or PM want a thing to be done, they can do so easily, the editorial said.
