Shiv Sena corners U’khand Govt. for ‘appeasement policy’ towards Muslims

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India]: The Shiv Sena on Monday condemned the special provision given to the Muslim community by the Uttarakhand Government and said that they would oppose this in Parliament as the Congress has been following this ‘appeasement policy’ from quite a long time.

“This is an absolutely wrong move. Today one state is coming with such a thing, tomorrow other states will follow and this is a complete appeasement policy towards Muslim which the Congress has been doing from the last sixty years,” said Shiv Sena leader Manisha Kayande.

The Uttarakhand Cabinet has decided to give a 90-minute break to the Muslim employees for Friday prayers.

A Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Harish Rawat decided that a special break from 12:30 p.m. till 2:00 p.m. will be given to the employees from the Muslim community.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has also criticised the decision and dubbed it a ‘stunt’ to woo the Muslims ahead of next year’s assembly elections. (ANI)
