Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde has said that the consultation process on the Telangana issue was continuing.
Making an official announcement on the matter at the end of the one month deadline he sought at the all-party meeting on Telangana held here on December 28, Shinde said consultations would take some more time.
Earlier AICC general secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad also said the government proposed to hold discussions with the Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana and senior leaders of the three regions. However, he said this was the party’s stand and added that the home minister would announce the government’s stand.
Consequently the home minister released a press note which was a continuation of what Azad said.
Shinde will be leaving for a two-day tour of Bangladesh on Monday. As such the consultation process might not begin until he came back.
