Shimla: An army colonel has been arrested for raping a 21-year-old girl in Shimla.
The 56-year-old accused was arrested after the 21-year-old victim, daughter of a lieutenant colonel of the Training Command (ARTAC) of the Army filed a complaint against him on Monday.
Shimla Police has recorded the victim’s statement after sending her for medical examination.
The Police lodged an FIR under various IPC sections after carrying out initial investigations and arrested the Colonel on Wednesday.
SP Superintendent of Police Sambandhwan has refused to disclose the identity of the colonel but confirmed the arrest.
