Shift Focus ON New Capital: Jairam to Seemandhra leaders

Union Minister Jairam Ramesh today said that the Congress party has taken a decision on Telangana as per its commitment.

Speaking to press persons,he claimed that the party has given adequate packages to Seemandhra. The Union Minister maintained that all the packages given to Seemandhra state are as per the Indian Constitution. The Congress leaders in the residuary state should now shift their focus on building their own capital. ‘We have kept our promise of giving statehood to Telangana which has been seeking self rule’, he said. The new capital will be announced by the Centre in a few months. The Centre will provide necessary funds and support to the new state of Andhra Pradesh, he said. The residuary state can now build its own capital, infrastructure, facilities and educational institutions and other buildings for constructing major offices, he said.
Unmindful of the comments of TRS targeting him, he said that the Congress has given statehood to the region. ‘And now we will fight the elections and garner support of the people in both the regions’, he added.(NSS)
