Mr. Syed Omer Jaleel, IAS, Special Secretary of the Dept. of Minorities Welfare convened a meeting for suggesting amendments in Qazis Act. of 1880 but he did not invite even a single Shia representative for this meeting.
Mr. Hadi Ali, President of All India Shia Organization and Vice Chairman of Minorities cell of Congress boycotted the meeting convened by Minorities Dept. He told that Qazis Act. was formulated by the British in 1880. Mr. Omer Jaleel has taken an initiative to amend this act. He had invited Maulana Syed Ghulam Husain Raza Aga, President of Majlis-e-Ulema-e-Zakireen but he refused to attend the meeting as a protest since he has not invited any Shia representative.
