Shelter Home Horror: Chilli powder used to abuse girls

New Delhi: Disturbing facts about shelter home came to limelight. Chilli powder was used to abuse the girls.

According to the report published in Jantaka Reporter, DCW’s expert committee members who visited shelter home which is meant for minor girls in Dwarka came to know the shocking details. They found that shelter home uses chilli power to punish girls if they exhibit defiant behaviour. Female staff thrust chilli powder in girl’s private parts.

At the shelter home, girls face many other types of punished. They are not allowed to visit their home even during summer and winter vacations.

It was also found that due to lack of domestic staff, elder girls are forced to take care of younger ones.

Committee members submitted the entire findings to DCW Chief, Ms. Swati Maliwal. After receiving the details, Ms. Swati reached the Home at 8 p.m. on the same night. She passed on the information to Deputy Commission of Police, Dwarka.

A team of officials visited shelter home and recorded the statement of children.

Police registered a case against the staff of the Shelter Home.

Steps are also taken to ensure the safety of the girls.
