Abu Dhabi: Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed who was an Emirati Politician and member of the Al Nahyan, the ruling family passed away on 18th November 2019. He was 62 year old.
According to the report published in Khaleej Times, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of the Emirates of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces led the mourners in performing the funeral prayer. The funeral prayer was performed at Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed The First Mosque, Abu Dhabi.
Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi of Sharjah, Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi of Ajman, Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi of Fujairah, Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu’alla of Umm Al Quwain and Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi of Ras Al Khaimah offered the prayer.
Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed who was the younger brother of the President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan died while receiving treatment abroad.
Many Emiratis also paid tribute to him. The oldest among them was a 75-year-old Emirati, Seif Dajesh Al Dhaheri.
Earlier, Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi also condoled the demise of Sultan bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
He tweeted, “I offer my deepest condolences to HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, on the demise of HH Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan. In this moment of grief, our thoughts and prayers are with the Al Nahyan family and the people of UAE”.
