Mumbai, January 23: Actor Shazahn Padamsee plays herself as a young, bubbly and chirpy character named June Pinto in the film Dil To Baccha Hai Ji. That’s how he is in real life.
“One of the main reasons why I decided to do the film is because I could relate to the character,” says the 22-year-old. Post Rocket Singh, Shazahn has been busy with a Tamil and a Telugu film where her acting skills have been appreciated. Shazahn now says that she is really excited to be part of Madhur Bhandarkar’s film, who she considers a mentor.
“Madhur is like family; he is my friend, philosopher, guide and mentor. It’s not only in terms of acting but on a personal level he has taught me a lot of things as well, especially how to be thick-skinned to negative reports in the media,” says Shazahn. “I have good people guiding me; in fact, I have two mentors — the other is Ajay Devgn, who says that time and experience will teach me how to deal with such things. My parents, being from the theatre background, don’t have much idea on how the film industry works,” she adds.
While Shazahn is focusing only on acting right now, she does have plans of getting behind the camera sometime. Though, you might just get to hear her sing before all that. “I do riyaaz with my mother every day to make sure my voice stays functional. I wouldn’t mind singing for one of my films,” offers Shahzahn.
