Taking its ongoing probe into the Sunanda Pushkar death case forward, the Delhi Police is likely to question former Union Minister and Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on Monday.
Confirming the development, Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi said, “A notice has been issued to Shashi Tharoor under Section 160 of CrPC. Tharoor may be quizzed within the next few days.”
When further quizzed by the reporters, Bassi said, “Whoever might know about the case will be questioned. Shashi Tharoor will be questioned soon, may be tomorrow or day after,”adding that the Congress leader will arrive in the national capital this evening.
The SIT probing the case will soon arrive at a logical conclusion in the case, the Delhi Police chief said.
Bassi had earlier informed that many people have been questioned in connection with the case and the remaining will be quizzed in the next couple of days.
“Our SIT (Special Investigation Team) is investigating the case and will reach its conclusion soon. They are looking into each and every aspect. They have already questioned several people and the remaining will be questioned in the next couple of days,” Bassi had told the media.
Bassi also said the process of sending Pushkar`s viscera abroad for ascertaining the poisonous substance was on.
