Sharif directs for accelerated diplomatic efforts amid Indo-Pak crisis

Islamabad: [Pakistan]: Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday, during a high-level meeting at the Foreign Office, directed for acceleration in diplomatic efforts in view of heightening tensions with India along the border.

Sharif also reiterated that there would be no compromise on national security, Geo News reported citing sources.

The high level meeting which was chaired by Sharif himself, was attended by Foreign Affairs adviser Sartaj Aziz and senior Foreign Ministry officials.

Geo News quoted sources as saying, that during the meeting Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to peace and stability in the region.

Important foreign affairs matters, including the regional security situation and Pakistan’s diplomatic strategy, were brought under the discussion during the meeting.

Sharif also gave policy guidelines to the officials on aligning the country’s foreign policy with new demands and directed for acceleration in diplomatic efforts in view of recent tensions with India along the border.

He also stressed on Pakistan’s stand on maintaining peaceful relations with its neighbours. (ANI)
