Sharif cancels defence minister’s visit to Iran

Islamabad: Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has ordered Defence Minister Khawaja Asif to cancel his visit to Iran.

A defence ministry official, confirmed that the trip had been cancelled, but gave no reason for the decision, reports the Dawn.

Asif was scheduled to travel to Tehran on a two-day visit from January 18 for promoting defence ties between the two countries.

Another official, however was of the opinion that the decision could be related to tensions between Iran and Saudi Arabia.(ANI)
