Karachi: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has announced a relief package of Rs. 341 billion to revive the nation’s farm sector amid unfavourable weather conditions and falling incomes of farmers.
According to The Dawn, the package provides a direct benefit of Rs. 147 billion to small farmers across the country whereas an additional loan of Rs. 194 billion will be available to the agriculture sector.

Sharif said, addressing a farmers’ convention at the Jinnah Convention Centre that the government had decided to provide a cash support of Rs. 5,000 with immediate effect to the growers of cotton and rice as a direct relief. (ANI)
