Former Minister and Senior Congress leader C K Jafer Sharief is almost a confirmed candidate for Mysore-Kodagu constituency for the Lok Sabha elections from JD(S), MLA GT Devegowda asserted while speaking to pressmen here today.
“Yes. It is confirmed by the party high command that Jaffer Sharrief will be contesting from Mysore-Kodagu constituency,” he said to the pressmen. However, there is still a slight doubt as the MLA said Sharrief’s candidature is 99 percent confirmed.
Efforts by the party supremo HD Devegowda and former Chief Minister HD Kumarswamy are being made to bring the third front in power.He feels that the circumstances are appropriate for change and that his party is receiving favorable responses from the voters.
The ‘Third Front’ comprises of 14 regional parties in the country. JD(S) is one among them and is all set to register a victory in the Lok Sabha elections,” Gowda expressed.
Parties talk about unity and fail to see any differences within, Gowda said referring to the Bhartiya Janata Party and the Congress. “JD(S) is the only party whose leaders are united and so are the opinions, while huge differences can be seen in the BJP and Congress.
The delay in projecting a candidate for the Mysore-Kodagu constituency was the party’s search for a winnable and influential candidate, he said and added that “the search has ended with Jaffer Sharief.” If at all Jaffer Sharief is not our candidate, we have other winnable candidates whom we will project, he said.
