New Delhi, Nov 30 : Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas and Co (SAM & Co) acted as the legal counsel to Grofers Group in the USD 120 million investment by SoftBank Group, Tiger Global, Apoletto Asia and Sequoia Capital.
The SAM & Co team was involved in all legal aspects of the transaction including drafting, negotiation and finalization of the transaction documents for the investment by the Investors into the Company.
The Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas Team was led by Puja Sondhi, Partner and it included Sumeet Singh, Senior Associate; and Vasundhara Garg, Senior Associate Designate.
As a part of the transaction, Grofers Singapore, part of Grofers Group which owns and operates the hyper-local grocery and fresh food delivery platform ‘Grofers’ in India, received Series D round of investment of USD 120 Million.
The Series D round was led by SoftBank Group and also saw the existing Investors such as Tiger Global and Sequoia Capital making further investments into the Company by way of subscription of redeemable preference shares of the Company.
SAM and Co has had earlier also advised the Grofers Group in its Series C fund round of investment from the existing Investors.
