Ranchi, February 26: Table tennis ace Sharath Kamal defeated West Bengal’s Anirban Nandi to win the men’s singles title on the concluding day of the 34th National Games here Saturday.
The Tamil Nadu player won 11-5, 11-9, 11-6, 11-3.
In the women’s competition, Maharashtra’s Madhurika Patkar upset top seeded Shamini Kumaresan of Tamil Nadu in a tough encounter that went to the decider. Madhurika won 11-5, 6-11, 12-10, 12-10, 11-13, 8-11, 11-2.
In Taekwondo, Sandeep Kundu of Haryana won the lightweight crown.
