Telangana protagonists received a shot in the arm on Thursday with Union Minister NCP President Shard Pawar supporting the demand for the formation of a separate Telangana State.
Sharad Pawar held discussions with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and urged him resole the Telangana state issue without any further Delay. Stating that NCP was fully supporting the demand for a Telangana State, he urged the Prime Minister to set up a UPA coordination committee to deliberate on the issue and resolve it without any further delay.
Meanwhile Congress Rajya Sabha member from AP, V. Hanumantha Rao called on the Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde and appealed to him not to further drag the Telangana issue further. He urged the Home Minister to take a firm ad final call on the separate Telangana state issue and make a announcement forthwith.
Hanumantha Rao also brought to the notice of the Home Minister the unabated suicides being committed by students and youth over the delay in T formation, he wanted Shinde to make a fervent appeal to the Telangana youth not resort to extreme steps and that the T State would be formed shortly. (NSS).
