Former minister and senior Congress leader Dr P Shanker Rao has urged the high command emissary Dr Vayalar Ravi to see that N Kiran Kumar Reddy is removed from the Chief Minister post before the issue of bye-election notification, to save the party in the State. He also demanded Dr Ravi to ensure that those involved in irregularities like Emaar Properties, the ministers who received Supreme Court notices and other leaders who were facing several allegations were removed from their posts.
Speaking to the media at CLP office here on Wednesday, Dr Shanker Rao has alleged that the Chief Minister was supporting the corrupt practices with the upper caste proud. Dr Ravi has to question the proud Chief Minister as to why he removed him (Dr Rao) from the Minister post, he said. He said that the Chief Minister had removed him for fighting against corruption. He alleged that Kiran Kumar Reddy government has giving permission to corruption in the State.
Stating that already Dalits were distancing from the party, he said that the party has to give focal posts to the Dalits. He welcomed the High Court observation with regard to ACB SIT former Chief K Srinivas Reddy’s transfer. Srinivas Reddy was a sincere officer and his transfer at this juncture had brought bad name to the State Government, he observed. He said that all these developments have brought obstacles to the state Government. He said that the people were feeling that there was no transparency in the government activities and it will affect the government’s exchequer. He also said that the Telangana people were in a feeling that the Congress party was against the region as it had given the Chief Minister, PCC Chief, Speaker, Legislative Council chairman, DGP and City Police Commissioner posts to Seemandhra leaders and officers, deceiving Telangana and it will affect the party badly.
Finding fault with the leaders who described the late leader Dr YSR as an anti-dalit, he said that the statement would affect the party badly at this juncture. (NSS)
