Shanker Demands Polavaram Tenders Cancellation

Finding fault with the State Government for allotting the Polavaram project tenders to Transtroy Company, which has no eligibility to take up the project works, former Minister Dr P Shanker Rao has demanded the State Government to cancel the Polavaram tenders immediately.

Speaking to the media at the CLP office here on Wednesday, Dr Rao said that the State Government itself found fault with the works taken up by Transtroy Company at the Outer Ring Road (ORR). Stating that the State Government has allotted Polavaram project tenders to Transtroy Company only because it belongs to Guntur MP Rayapati Sambasivarao, he demanded the Government to cancel the tenders immediately.

He also demanded the Director General of Police and the Chief Minister to respond immediately on the provocative remarks of Rayapati Sambasivarao and Eluru MP Kavuri Sambasivarao and initiate action against them.

Asked to respond on the Chief Minister’s remark that the State could not be divided for politics, Dr Rao said that the Chief Minister too should not earn positions and money on the basis of politics.

Dr Rao condemned the Government Whip Jagga Reddy’s criticism against Peddapally MP Dr G Vivek and remarked that Jagga Reddy had changed three political parties and he has no moral right to criticize Vivek. He said that Jagga Reddy was speaking as he got the opportunity to speak. He said that Jagga Reddy has to fight intellectually with his experience. (NSS)
