Shankar Raps CM For Not Taking Action Against Vandals

Former minister Dr P Shanker Rao on Monday deplored that the Kiran Kumar Reddy Government failed to initiate action against the vandals, who destroyed the statues of late Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and former chief minister Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy during the September 30 Telangana March.

Speaking to the media at the CLP office here on Monday, Dr Rao said that the Congress has lost its traditional vote bank in the Telangana region due to the over-enthusiasm of the police during the Telangana March. He said the police resorted to arrests of Telangana activists in spite of the government permitting the March.

Alleging that the Kiran Government was out to vitiate Telangana March by all means, Dr Rao said the arm-twisting methods used against Telangana activists clearly proved that the Kiran Kumar Reddy Government was Seemandhra Government.

JAC STATEMENT NOT CORRECT: GANDRA

Government Chief Whip in the Legislative Assembly Gandra Venkatramana Reddy has found fault with the Telangana Political JAC for issuing an ultimatum to the Telangana Ministers to help carve out separate Telangana State. He said that it was not correct on the part of Telangana Political JAC chairman Prof. Kodandaram to say that JAC’s target was Telangana ministers from now onwards. He said the ministers were in favor of separate Telangana State. (NSS)
