Former minister Dr P Shankar Rao on Tuesday warned the State Government that he would picket Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy’s residence if it fails to resolve the power problem within next 48 hours.
Talking to media persons after expressing solidarity to TRS leaders at Bollaram Police station, who were arrested at Vidhyut Soudha for staging dharna over power crisis, Dr Shankar Rao said that the farmers in the State were facing huge problems mainly due to inefficient government. He alleged that the power shortage in the State cropped up mainly due to the Chief Minister’s lack of foresightedness and inefficient handling of matters. He demanded that the government honour its promise of supplying quality power of seven hours to farmers.
Dr Shankar Rao accused the government of showing discrimination towards farmers from Telangana region by supplying power to Seemandhra region. He also demanded that the government complete all pending power based projects on war footing basis from the region to tide over the crisis.
