Hyderabad, December 26 (INN): The visit of President of India Smt Pratibha Devsingh Patil was marred by protest by Handlooms and Textiles Minister Dr P Shankar Rao who was angry at the officials for violation of protocol.
The Minister’s name did not figure in the list of dignitaries who were to receive the President at the airport. He complained that although Begumpet airport falls in his constituency, he was ignored by the officials. Later, talking to reporters Dr Shankar Rao said that he would take up the matter with the President herself.
Dr Shankar Rao said that he was not satisfied with the arrest of 11 people who were allegedly attacked him at the NTR Nagar. He demanded stringent action against all those involved in the attack. He even claimed that he could identify all the culprits who carried out the attacks. (INN)
