Former minister Dr P Shankar Rao on Thursday expressed serious concern over the negligence of people’s problems by the government and administrative machinery in the State.
Talking to media persons in the Assembly premises, Dr Shankar Rao said that the people of the State were worried as the government and official machinery was showing indifferent attitude towards people’s problems. Though the government has been conducting the Prajapatham programme across the State to redress the people’s issues, he said that it has failed to address their woes due to the lenient attitude of officials.
Stating that people were facing shortage of drinking water, pathetic roads and drainage problems, he appealed to the government to take stern action against the officials for not attending people’s problems promptly.
Dr Shankar Rao also defended Health Minister D L Ravindra Reddy for describing Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy as a ‘cohort’ of Y S R Congress president Jagan Mohan Reddy. Claiming that he has already informed this long ago, he said everyone knows why he was sacked from the State Cabinet.
