Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) has bagged the first prize in the Garden Festival held by Horticulture department. Out of 126 entries in the competition, Rajiv Gandhi International Airport won the first prize. It also bagged best traffic and residential township awards. The GMR landscape consists of 16000 trees, 17 lakh shrubs and 1.8 lakh square meters of lawns.
Officials of department of Horticulture Andhra Pradesh had visited airport on 12th January. Dr. M Jagan Mohan IAS Commissioner of Horticulture gave away the award to the officials of Shamsabad airport.
