Guwahati: In yet another incident of crime against women, a newlywed bride allegedly gang-raped by husband and his friends. This heinous crime came to limelight after the woman was admitted to a local hospital in a critical condition.
According to the report published in NDTV, she got married three days before the heinous crime took place. As per police sources, the victim was gangraped as her family failed to fulfill her husband’s dowry demand. This incident occurred at Karimganj in Southern Assam.
After the heinous crime which took place on 17th April, a case has been registered. Police arrested victim’s husband whereas other two accused are absconding. Police is searching them.
As per the victim’s statement, after her family members failed to fulfill her husband’s demand for gold jewellery, she was gang-raped by her husband and his two friends.
It may be mentioned that many women are facing dowry harassment. In another incident which took place in Telangana, a newly married woman committed suicide due to dowry harassment. This incident took place in Nalgonda District of Telangana State.
