Hyderabad: Massive fire broke out at an Indian Oil petrol pump in Shaikpet at 2:00 PM resulting in sudden panic among the people.
The petrol pump’s management, fire brigade and the staff of Golconda Police Station operated jointly to extinguish the fuming fire. Though the team was quick enough to control it, two out of six filling stations in the petrol pump were gutted by fire thereby damaging the ceiling. No casualties have been reported.
“A car owner arrived here at the pump. Due to petrol leakage, the heated engine caught fire but we were able to control the situation,” said K Chandrashekar Reddy, Inspector Golconda Police.
