News reports were published in Siasat Urdu Daily on 16th August 2009, 25th September 2011 and 24th October 2012 in which the attention of Wakf Board was invited to restore the uninhabited Shaikpet mosque. It has 3270 Sq. yards land around it which has been illegally occupied by various people.
It is the effect of the news items published in Siasat Urdu Daily that the officials of Wakf Board took immediate action and restored the mosque. Yesterday, the officials of Wakf Board, namely; Syed Iftakhar Mushiraf, EO, Mr. Ahmed Badshah, Inspector of Wakf, Mr. Mohammed Shujath Ahmed Khan and Mohammed Ali offered Zohar prayer in the mosque. The land grabbers have an eye on the open land of the mosque. Wakf Board is requested to dislodge illegal possessions on this Wakf land.
