Shaikh Mohammed arrives in London

Dubai, November 23: Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and his accompanying delegation arrived in London on Sunday evening.

During the visit, he will meet Queen Elizabeth and British Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Shaikh Mohammed, who is accompanied by a high-level delegation, will discuss with the British Premier ways to strengthen friendship and cooperation between the UAE and Britain.

The delegation includes Deputy Ruler of Dubai Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Foreign Minister Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Dubai Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Airline and Group Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Minister for Cabinet Affairs Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of State Reem Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Director-General of Dubai Ruler’s Court Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, Governor of the Dubai International Financial Centre Ahmed Humaid Al Tayer and UAE Ambassador to the United Kingdom Abdul Rahman Al Mutaiwee.

Before his departure, Shaikh Mohammed met the heads of many sub-committees set up by the Forum on Global Agenda 2009. Crown Prince of Dubai Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum was present at the meeting.

Welcoming the elite group, Shaikh Mohammed said that the UAE would continue to foster all summits of regional and international organisations working for the wellbeing of humanity and implement projects for sustainable development.

Shaikh Mohammed had a dialogue with the dignitaries and heard the heads of sub-committees explain the agenda in economic, social, educational, health, and energy spheres. Climate change was also discussed. —
