Shahzadi Didi, the Mother Teresa of Chhattisgarh

50-year-old, Shahzadi Quraishi is the talk of the town in Chhattisgarh. People call her Mother Teresa of Chhattisgarh for her bravery, courage and humanitarian services. Interestingly even as Shahzadi Quraishi is busy in helping the ill and needy, she has also got black belt in Karate thus sending a message to Indian women to become self dependent.

Shahzadi who resides in Bilaspur has been busy helping needy for the past 33 years. Indian Medical Association has recently presented her an award in recognition of her services. She has been elected as counselor on Congress ticket for the third consecutive term. She is available for the needy even at midnight. She visits atleast one dozen patients on daily basis and shifts further one dozen patients to the hospital.

Either it is the case of delivery of poor women or postmortem of bodies killed in road accidents she is always there to help. Shahzadi is a simple Hijab observing woman. she says during health emergency when she was just a young girl and was attending her mother in a hospital, many people approached her and she felt contentment by guiding them. From that day she made visiting the ill and helping the needy the goal of her life.
