Hyderabad, October 22: President Pradesh Congress Minority department Mr. Mohammad Sirajuddin expressed serious concern over the misuse of 3362 sqyd waqf land of Shahi Masjid Public Garden, and planned representation with National Minority Commission besides state and central governments for asking necessary measures to protect the land.
Mr. Mohammad Sirajuddin availing the facility of RTA sought the details regarding Shahi Masjid Public Garden land by sending a letter to Survey Commissioner of Waqf AP Secretariat on September 9, 2011.
In response to that the details provided by state public information commissioner are shocking. Mr. Mohammad Sirajuddin told that in first survey report 13,811 sqyd land of Shahi Masjid has been mentioned while presenting the details of 2nd survey it has been clarified that presently 10,449 sqyd land remains under Shahi Masjid the remaining 3362 sqyd is claimed to be used for Public Garden and assembly road which is condemnable.
Minority welfare department is just the supervisor Shahi Masjid. Had it obtained NOC from State Waqf Board before taking the decision to use the mosque land for public purpose? Had the mosque been given alternate land in compensation for the land taken over? When the mosque land is acquired for public garden and assembly road then why parking fee is collected from the worshipers coming for prayer in the mosque.
Mr. Mohammad Sirajuddin will make representation with Mr. Mohammad Ahmedullah, Mr. Salman Khursheed, Rahman Khan and Mr. Ahmed Patel, besides Mr. Wajahat Habeebullah and chairman state waqf board against the misuse of mosque land.
