Shaheen Educational Institutions which have been offering education through the medium of Urdu for the past 24 years have been selected for the prestigious Rajivostava Award of Govt. of Karnataka which contains a medal of 20 grams gold and a citation. The award was given by the C.M. of Karnataka, Mr. Siddaramia yesterday on the occasion of the formation of Karnataka State.
Shaheen Institution was started in a rented building in 1989. It has now a building of its own spread over an area of 90000 sq. ft. It has 400 teachers. It offers education from LKG to BA and BSc. It has 8000 students on its rolls from 12 states. It provides hostel accommodation to 900 students. Lunch is served to the local students with in the college premises itself. There are 35% non- Muslim students also. So far 500 students have become doctors and 2000 students have become Engineers.
Late Mr. Abdul Aziz, Mr. Abdul Qadeer, Secretary , Mr. Abdul Mannan Saith, President, Mr. Ghulam Nabi Inamdar and Ms. Mahar Sultana have contribute for the development of this institute.
