Mohammed Shahabuddin Hashmi (Bureau Chief, Siasat daily, Hyderabad) has been appointed as president Andhra Pradesh Working Journalist Federation (APWJF). Hashmi was elected unopposed as the president APWJF in federation’s state meeting. Senior journalist Venu Gopal served as returning officer in the meeting. P Shankar has been appointed secretary.
Earlier a state level meeting was held under the presidentship of Mr. MS Hashmi in which nearly 200 representatives of 23 districts of the state participated. It was demanded in the meeting to transform the press academy into media academy and it was also urged to give representation to all the committees formed by the information department in the federation. The federation also demanded that the government also provide ACS facilities to the journalists belonging to districts.
