Shah wants to fight Election on Shaheen Bagh protest: Arvind

New Delhi: Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal today said the Home Minister Amit Shah who is a powerfully influential person wants to fight Delhi Election on Shaheen Bagh protest.

“He is so powerful. Can he not open a road?” Kejriwal asked in an exclusive interview adding not other party lies more than the ruling BJP and a “great man like Amit Shah” also peddled lies.

Critics are targeting the Shaheen Bagh protest as is it the longest ongoing sit in protest against Citizenship law in the country where hundreds of women, children have spent nights sitting on the road.

“Amit Shah is the Home Minister, he is so powerful, do you think he cannot clear a road if he wants to? He doesn’t want to as he wants to fight the entire Delhi election on Shaheen Bagh. The BJP has no other issue,” the CM said.

Arvind Kejriwal said if his government had control over the police, then “we would have cleared the area within two hours”.

He added: “The BJP will not talk about anything else because they have nothing else to talk about. Just Shaheen Bagh, Shaheen Bagh, Shaheen Bagh, Hindu-Muslim , Hindu-Muslim, Hindu-Muslim and Pakistan, Pakistan, Pakistan…That is all they do.”

Responding to BJP leaders comment calling Kejriwal as a terrorist, he asked “Do I look like a terrorist from any angle.”

“In what way am I a terrorist? How can they label me a terrorist? I have dedicated my life to serve the people of Delhi. I have worked as their elder son. I have worked to ensure that they get free water, free electricity, get good facilities like schools and hospitals. Now it is for the people of Delhi to decide what I am.”

Slamming the BJP party for its false claims, Mr Kejriwal said: “They click photos of schools that have closed down as children have moved to new buildings, and show them as dilapidated conditions for students. What a lie… in fact your channel also investigated the case and found out that the BJP is lying.”

“We have not gone ahead with the scheme because in Delhi it would benefit less than 1 lakh people. The Delhi government’s healthcare scheme, on the other hand, benefits all 2 crore people of Delhi – rich or poor – everyone. We told the centre we can implement both schemes in Delhi – yours as well as ours, but they outright refused. They said it will either be yours or ours. I am saying it here… I am still open to implementing both in Delhi,” Mr Kejriwal said.
