Shah Rukh Khan’s film ‘Raees’ crosses the 200-crore mark at worldwide box-office

Shah Rukh Khan’s  ‘Raees’ which was released on January 25, has been having a wonderful run at the box office with record collection in both domestic as well as overseas market. The film has collected Rs 62.56 crore (approximately USD 9.2 million) in the overseas market within six days of its release. While the net Indian box office collection of Raees crossed Rs 152.61 crore. The movie’s worldwide earning surpassed Rs 215.17 crore.

After a massive beginning in Indian markets, the film will release on February 10 in Pakistan. In Singapore, ‘Raees’ has become the highest earning Bollywood weekend grosser, with its weekend collections at an estimated $226,000 (Rs 1.52 crore).

Raees has managed to make an incredible leap in comparison to Kaabil, the Hrithik Roshan revenge-drama. Raees is an Excel Entertainment production and is being directed by Rahul Dholakia.  The movie is based on Gujarati bootlegger Abdul Latif, Raees aims at portraying him as an honest businessman who did not intend to hurt anyone unless his business was affected. The film, starring Pakistani actress Mahira Khan as Shah Rukh Khan’s leading lady and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

Raees’s dialogues, merchandise, and mannerisms are already a rage among fans. Given the film’s performance at the ticket windows.
