Apart from being Home Minister, BJP president Amit Shah is now in charge of the police force in Jammu and Kashmir, reported The Indian Express.
The report further said that, Amit Shah, apart from calling the shots by spending around two-and-a-half hours daily and handling party affairs, will also look in Kashmir affair after pushing for the revocation of Article 370 in the Valley and divided the state into two union territories.
And hence, the newly-formed Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir will be similar to Delhi and Puducherry where law and order comes under the purview of the Delhi Home Ministry.
Currently, there are 29 states and seven Union Territories in India. However, after the bifurcation, there will be 28 states and nine Union Territories in the country.
Jammu and Kashmir has been under lockdown since the government, on August 5 abrogated Article 370.
