New Delhi: A meeting was held at India Islamic Cultural Center, New Delhi to pay tribute to the services rendered by Mr. Shafeeq-ul-Hasan who has been sending the clippings of newspapers to various persons.
Chairman of the Center, Mr. Sirajuddin Qureshi presented welcome address whereas Mr. Wadood Sajid conducted the meeting.
Prof. Akhtarul Wasey applauded the efforts of Mr. Shafeeq ul Hasan and said that there is a message for younger generation to participate in social activities.
He mentioned that Mr. Hasan has been sending the clippings of Urdu and other newspapers to various leaders and common public.
Former MP, Mr. M. Afzal told that those who forget their bad time do not become great and those who remember their bad times in glory excel in their lives.
He mentioned that when Shafeeq Ul Hasan came to Delhi, he had only Rs. 50 but today, he created history. He promised that he would write to Home Minister recommending his name for the award of Padma Shri.
Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, Managing Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily and Mr. Feroz Bhakht, Chancellor of MANUU also supported the idea.
At the end of the meeting, Mr. Hasan thanked all those who were present in the meeting. On this occasion, a documentary movie was also screened depicting the life and works of Mr. Hasan.
