Leader of opposition in Telangana Legislative Assembly Mohammed Ali Shabbir urged the Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao to announce formation of BC Commission for Muslim reservation as Eid gift to Muslims. He maintained that Chief Minister should clear government’s stand in connection with fulfilment of his promise.
Mr. Mohammed Ali Shabbir said that generally governments present some or other gift to people on the occasion of festivals either in the form of a scheme or fulfilment of a promise. Chief Minister had promised to provide 12 pc reservations to Muslims within four months after coming to power but even after two years there is no breakthrough in this regard.
Declaring the formation of Sudhir Commission of Enquiry as eyewash, M A Shabbir said that the term of the commission was extended twice. He said Chief Minister had announced on the occasion of Iftar party that the commission will submit its report within fifteen days and a resolution will be passed in favour of reservation and will be sent to the centre. These announcements are nothing but a bid to delay the reservations further, he said.
