Leader of the Opposition in the Telangana Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir has criticized Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for blindly supporting the NDA candidate Ramnath Kovind as the NDA and BJP have all along been anti-Telangana, anti-Dalit, anti-farmer and anti-pork.
Addressing the media at the CLP office today, Shabbir Ali said the BJP suddenly opted for a Dalit candidate for Presidency just for political gains. He said time has come to the Telangana Rashtra Samiti to express its gratitude to the UPA for giving Telangana and redeem its commitment to promoting Dalits in public life by unanimous presidential candidature of Meira Kumar, who was chosen by 17 constituents of UPA.
‘ I appeal to Telangana Chief Minister to see through the political game of Prime Minister Modi and BJP and defeat the designs of the Hindu zealots by withdrawing support to the NDA, which was out to gain control of the coveted office of the President of India, which would smoothen their path to de-secularise India Ramnath Kovind was known for opposing reservations to Dalit Christians and Muslims’, he added. He urged Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to support the candidature of Meira Kumar, a stalwart in parliamentary affairs and daughter of Dalit patriarch Jagjivan Ram. (NSS)
