Mohammed Ali Shabbir, leader of Opposition in TSLC today charged that the TRS govt led by K Chandrasekhar Rao of not producing even a single MW of power since it came to power 4 years ago.
Addressing a press conference during his visit to Sriram Sagar Project in Nizamabad, the LOP said KCR has no locus standi to question the Congress on farmers welfare programs. It was the congress govt at the center which waived farmers loan arrears of thousands of crores and state congress govt which gave free farm power from 2004 itself.
Instead of stating facts the KCR government has made a false claim of Telangana being surplus in power by supplying 3000-4000 MW of power it purchased from other states. Its charges on congress ahead of 2019 polls is just an attention diversion con game normally used by criminals and conmen on the streets of Hyderabad.
Accusing that the TRS govt and KCR were always bluffing people and resorting to gimmicks to divert attention on its failures on all fronts in the last four years rule he said that the achievement of Congress Govts was showcased well at the Sriramsagar project itself.
Narrating how he had successfully campaigned for the installing 9×4 MW hydel turbines at the reservoir in 2005 and later dedicated it to a nation in 2007, Sri Shabbir said ‘ here was the standing example of Congress achievements’.
Retorting to KCRs recent attack on Congress party that it had done nothing to farmers in spite of being in power for 70 years, the LOP said it was the Congress party which gave free farm power in Telangana where more than 25 lakh pump sets were energized o draw water to fields of farmers from 2004 onwards.
He said the question KCR should ask himself what he had done for Telangana in last 4 years. KCR is just making paper announcements and none of the benefits and sops were cornered by TRS agents and middlemen and not reaching the needy farmers and rural poor .‘You made announcements of Bhadradri-1080 MW, Yadadri -4000 MW and Mancherial-800 MW. Where are they and what is the progress of works so far and have they been giving power to fields and industries? ‘he asked. (NSS)
