Leader of Opposition in Telangana Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir dared Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to get the 25 MLAs who defected to the ruling party tender their resignations and contest the elections afresh and emerge victories if at all he trusted the outcome of the surveys that predicted TRS victory in the next elections.
“The Congress will win more than half the number of seats and if does not happen I will resign from my post,” Shabbir Ali said.
Speaking to media persons at the CLP office here on Monday, the Congress leader said that the survey conducted by the TRS was bogus and misleading. He alleged that the ruling party was trying to divert people’s attention from the issues by conducting such surveys. He slammed minister Harish Rao for his comments that Prof Kodandaram was acting at the behest of Congress. Harish Rao had termed the hunger stir of Prof Kodandaram as a political stunt fuelled by Congress agenda. It is disastrous that the government is attacking those who question the government for its failure to tackle the farm crisis in the state.
The Congress leader said that the TRS government has started a bad trend by bringing in Ordinances for its major decision. He also lashed out at the Chief Minister saying that he was cooling his heels at his farm house and was running the government by bringing in Ordinances very frequently.
Shabbir Ali accused the government of imposing huge burden on the state treasury by deciding to construct new Secretariat building. He demanded the state government to fulfill its promise of double bed room rather than going for new Secretariat building and burdening the general public.
He said that the government’s 100-day Action Plan to give facelift to Hyderabad turned out to be a major scam as the city has not witnessed any improvement of roads and other infrastructure. (INN)
