Shabbir Ali Throws a Challenge to Talasani

Leader of Opposition in Telangana Legislative Council Shabbir Ali has ridiculed the threat given by Commercial Taxes Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav of putting opposition leaders behind the bars if they continue to oppose the policies of TRS Government.

When asked for reaction on Talasani’s comments, Shabbir Ali told media persons in Assembly premises on Friday that Talasani’s threat holds no value. “He is a “bhagouda” (Desertor) and Telangana “Drohi” (traitor). He has no status to speak on Congress party or its leaders who gave statehood for Telangana. “Let him put us in jail if he has real guts. We will also show our might to him,” he said.

Shabbir Ali reminded that Talasani became a minister in TRS Government without resigning from his post as TDP MLA. While Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao ignored all the rules, Governor ESL Narasimhan has remained a mute spectator. This is a first of its kind case in India. “Talasani would have resigned from the post if he had any respect for the law and Constitution of India. Despite being a ‘bhagouda’ and ‘drohi’ himself, he is making remarks against the Congress leaders. ‘We will prefer to go to jail for the sake of people than singing praise for anti-people policies of TRS Government,” he said.

The Congress leader alleged that KCR appears to have turned weak. He said it would have been morally correct if leaders who participated in the Telangana movement commented on us. However, KCR has assigned the task of countering opposition parties to traitors of Telangana including Tummala Nageshwar Rao, Mahender Reddy and Talasani.

Shabbir Ali advised Talasani to first resign from his post, face by-elections, get re-elected and then comment on Congress party and its leaders.(NSS)
