Shabbir Ali participates in J&K election campaign

Senior Congress leader of Telangana Mohammed Ali Shabbir participated in the election campaign in Rajauli district of Jammu & Kashmir.

Shabbir Ali, , who has been appointed as one of the AICC observer, addressed several meeting in the Doongi Garati, Rajauli, Kalakote, Khwas and Mithyan areas of Rajauli district. All these hill areas are located close to the LoC between India and Pakistan.

Shabbir Ali, along with former union minister Mukul Wasnik, addressed the first meeting at Dhmri Ghati in Rajauli constituency. The second meeting was held in Kalakote while third meeting was held in Khwas of Mithyan Assembly constituency. On Sunday, Shabbir Ali participated in the election campaign in Darhal along with local Congress MLA Iqbal Malik. He also participated in a motorcycle rally organised by the Youth Congress leaders.

He also inspected the arrangements for a public meeting in Darhal, to be addressed by AICC Vice-President Rahul Gandhi on December 16. Congress candidates Ashok Sharma (Kalakote), Ravindra Sharma (Nausera), Shabbir Khan (Rajuri) and Iqbal Malik (Darhal) were also present.

Shabbir Ali expressed confidence that the Congress party would win with a huge majority in all the four constituencies. He said people have endorsed the fact that as the then Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has developed the border and areas and therefore, they have decided to vote in favour of Congress party to revive the process of development. He said people who had earlier voted for the BJP are expressing regret over their decision and are keen to vote for the Congress to correct their mistake.

The Congress leader said that he would campaign in Rajauri district till December 18 where polling is scheduled to be held on December 20. (INN)
