Former minister and Congress Campaign Committee Co-Chairman Mohammad Ali Shabbir on Friday alleged that TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao was trying to convert Telangana into a family unit.
He was speaking to reporters at Gandhi Bhavan after attending a meeting with Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee spokespersons which was chaired by Campaign Committee chairman Damodar Rajanarasimha and attended by PCC chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah. He alleged that by giving ticket to his daughter K Kavitha from Nizamabad Lok Sabha seat, KCR has proved that TRS was a family-run party. Now he is trying to turn Telangana into a family-run State, he alleged.
Shabbir Ali said that KCR, along with his family members, called on AICC President Sonia Gandhi after the passing of Telangana Bill in Parliament. He said if KCR was sincere then he should have taken the family members of Telangana martyrs along with him. He said KCR had always preferred his family over Telangana martyrs. He should have announced tickets for the kin of Telangana martyrs before finalising ticket for his own daughter.
He said that over 1100 youth and students laid down their lives for the statehood cause and their families could not be ignored. He said that the Congress party would do justice with them and bring development in the new State.
Shabbir Ali also informed that it has been decided to conduct daily media briefing by one of the 17 spokespersons appointed by the TPCC. (INN)
