NGOs are playing a major role in publicizing Shaadio Mubarak Scheme. Siasat Urdu Daily has taken up guidance program for Shaadi Mubarak Scheme. It has setup helpline to offer voluntary services to the people. This scheme was started in October last year. Siasat Urdu Daily, Hyderabad Zakat and Chariatable Trust and 12 more NGOs have started awareness programs for Minorities.
Siasat Urdu Daily is not only offering guidance to the applicants but it is also helping the needy persons for getting necessary documents. Hyderabad Zakat and Charitable Trust appointed special volunteers in all the 10 districts of Telangana. They have been provided two-wheeler vehicles. These volunteers go to villages and propagate Shaadi Mubarak Scheme. In every mosque the telephone numbers of the officials of the department of Minorities Welfare have been advertised.
According to the statistics, so far 3994 applications have been registered out of which 2198 cases have been sanctioned and amounts were released to 1639 families. Most of the applicants expressed the view that govt. should relax certain conditions so that maximum benefits could be derived from this scheme.
